We've had the idea for the Ellen Sweater for what feels like ages and are so excited to finally release this style! Constructed from deadstock (meaning it was left over from another brand's production) recycled Cotton yarn and hand loom knit right here in New York! This sweater will be an easy add to your wardrobe with its defined ribbed structure and classic silhouette. It's also a great choice for those who are sensitive to animal fibers and those who have been asking for a longer sweater body!
We were first introduced to Kelly Brown's work midway through 2021, a year into the pandemic and dreaming of the days we could travel to wild places again. Kelly is a photographer who splits her time between British Columbia and Joshua Tree, California and its her ability to beautifully capture these vastly different landscapes that drew us to her work. For this month's lived in series we caught up with Kelly to learn more about her inspirations, building an Earth House in Joshua Tree and becoming a mother.
Back in 2021 ago we hosted our first fit clinic with four very gracious volunteers. What did we learn? That every single body is unique, that women with the same measurements didn't necessarily wear the same size, that every fit model's face lit up when they felt good in their clothes. You could see their posture shift, their confidence grow, and that feeling of "hey, I look damn good!" radiating off of them. And thatis what we're working towards – that's the power of clothing that finds a home on a body, the power of body positivity in fashion.
With this year's more even keeled pace of creation, our goal is to be intentional about the fit of our clothing across all sizes. We know that it may be nearly impossible to create a product that works for everyone, but boy are we determined to do our very best anyways! To start out, our styles will be offered in sizes 2XS - 4XL (numeric sizes 0 - 20), and you can take a look at our Size Chart and How to Measure Guide in the new "Sizing" section of the website. We encourage you to refer to these charts to find your perfect fit!
It's around this time of year that we start daydreaming of warm sunny days and begin the countdown to spring. Better yet, why not follow the sun? If you're able to safely travel to a warm weather destination let us help you shed those winter layers! Check out our warm weather collection filled with organic cotton knits, like our favorite Jude Crochet Pants; or naturally dyed hand woven styles like the Lyssandra Tee!
