“The Upside down”
Inspired by the legends of Fata Morgana mirages. Where objects are significantly distorted to the point of being unrecognizable, resulting in someone seeing floating ships or entire cities in the skies's horizon! We learned about these incredible superior mirages on the podcast Stuff to Blow your Mind and it gave us the idea to create a distorted pattern within a knitted textile, the result being the Fata Morgana Sweater. Hand knit using the an intarsia technique and then brushed after knitting to give additional texture. A truly unique piece that invokes our love for the strange and unexplainable.
