Tabitha St. Bernard ~ Designer and Organizer, Brooklyn, NY.

Our Lived In Series was created to capture our clothing on a series of women, all pursuing their own creative paths, to see how they live in Kordal. So many women in our lives inspire us with their drive, their talent, and their genuine sense of self. These are the women we design for. They remind us of why we want to design clothing in the first place: to create pieces that encourage comfort, ease, and the unique and honest beauty in each and every one of us.

I am so excited to introduce our FIRST full time employee Jia Yee Ni! She came to work with me back in 2013 as part of a school internship, and quickly became an irreplaceable part of the team. Even at 19 years old she was incredibly talented, determined, and had such a positive approach to her work and life, an old soul in the best way. Check out the Q&A to find out what her day to day is like here at Kordal or what it's like being an identical twin and why that piqued her interest in fashion. Welcome Jia Yee!

Collaboration ~ Marche Rue Dix

Collaboration ~ Marche Rue Dix

December 01, 2017

Our Marche wrap scarf holds a special place in our hearts as it was made in collaboration with our good friend Nilea, the owner of Marche, our favorite little shop in Crown Heights Brooklyn! Right next door to the boutique is their restaurant Cafe Rue Dix, my favorite place to eat in the neighborhood. The interior of both spaces are incredible, a perfect mix of geometric patterns and rich textiles, we knew it would be the perfect inspiration for our scarf.

Packing for Two Weeks in Paris

Packing for Two Weeks in Paris

November 23, 2017

In early October my fiancé was hired on to be the lead editor for a documentary that follows the music career of Connie Converse. So we made arrangements for me to work remotely for the last two weeks of November and December in Paris. In the process of packing I realized that almost every pair of shoes or piece of clothing was from a designer that I know and love that are good for the planet and the soul! SO I decided to share the items I brought with me, and why they deserve to be on the short list!

We settled into our new studio this summer and could not be happier with the space! Just down the hall from our old studio, this new space gives us some more room to s p r e a d  o u t. With natural light coming in from the skylight and windows and reflecting off our wall of mirrors (it used to be a taekwondo studio), we feel re-energized in this bright open space! Make an appointment and visit us! Just email info@kordalstudio.com to set up a time.
